First of all, holy cow it has been too long since I drew for myself.
Second, I graduated from art school in the beginning of May and I have a BFA! WHAT WHUT!?! ….now I gotta go get a big kid job…
Third, I finally have free time and was inspired to look into one of my favorite things as a young artist, iscribble.net only to find that it is no longer running! So I am looking into Drawpile as an alternative. So far, I like it. I think it would be cool to hang out and possibly make friends, but like… I have a lot of anxiety about making friends over the internet so its hard for me. xP
Here is the first thing I drew in a Drawpile session. I really like how you can save sessions and edit them later. I had to crop out a lot of peens.
A found poem from “The Hobbit” by J. R. R. Tolkien from the chapter, “Riddles in the Dark.”
He could not find his hopes
The smell of dark holes crushed all his feeling
but somehow he was comforted
feeling his heart patter and a pitter.
Remember,
you do not easily lose sense of direction
and recover wonderfully from falls and bruises
A found poem from C. S. Lewis’ “Voyage of the Dawn Treader” in the chapter “How the Adventure Ended.”
My scales and skin started peeling off after an illness.
I was rough and wrinkled so I went down to bathe.
I knew it had been no good to undress,
So my heart threw me into the water–
All the pain had gone
And then, I think
I felt pretty
A found poem from “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” by C.S. Lewis. These pages are from the chapter, “The Triumph of the Witch”.
Lion,
Are you sad and lonely?
I can feel you walk like cold hands in the beautiful sea
The Lion, his mane, and his sad eyes turned towards the top of the hill
and he saw the moon burned with spirits of all those who dismay
when the great Lion seemed to be struck with fear.
